Festive Sunday

Community life has always centred around religion and the church. Sundays and Days of Obligation were respected and participation in the liturgies was also very widespread. The only time the whole family dressed in their best clothes was on a Sunday or on a day of festivity. It was also the only day of the week when they could afford a decent meal.
