The military service
In Solto Collina, like everywhere else, the "leva" was the annual conscription of male citizens. At birth, male citizens were recorded on the municipal registry as future “conscripts” and when the time came their names appeared on a poster for the “call to arms” and they were informed about the procedure..... There were several military bodies and each was distinguished by uniform and training.
