The three villages are all in the hill area and each has a different vocation. Riva di Solto has always exploited its advantageous position next to the lake, especially for fishing. Solto Collina, in a geographically central position has always been more dedicated to agriculture, cultivating forage crops and rearing livestock to support the family. Even Fonteno, with its inaccessible steep slopes, has been able to make the most of the area. It is said that there are 365 farmsteads in the Fonteno valley (as many as the days of the year) and its inhabitants were mostly devoted to rearing livestock.
